Ruby's Paws

A chance to Pay It Forward...Ruby was a very special rescue dog. In memory of her, we have created colourful fusion Paw Prints. $5 from each paw sold goes to various rescues and clinics to assist people and their four legged kids in financial need. At this time we have donated just over $2000.

Thank you for your support!

Sue is a glass fusion and stained glass artist who began her journey at age 17 when she took a glass fusion class on a whim. She fell in love with the creative process of turning glass into works of art and uses glass art as her daily therapy. She spends large parts of her day creating fun, whimsical, and colourful pieces of glass fusion, that she loves to share with others.

“My art is who I am, not what I do and it is my lifeline,” says Sue. “Working in my studio brings me a sense of calm and joy. Working with glass gives purpose and meaning to my life. Sharing it with others brings me affirmation and connection to others and the world.” She loves to share this passion with others through the pieces she creates and then donates to the gallery.

In this picture, pieces are hand drawn using a quill dipped in black glass powder mixed with water and gum arabica powder, painted by sifting coloured glass powders in layers within the lines & then fired in our kiln.

When Kay moved from Alaska to Magnetawan she was inspired by the gorgeous scenery of the area and began to focus her energies towards finding ways to share this natural beauty with others. Kay is an intarsia artist and uses exotic woods to create her pieces. She has always loved working with wood whether carving, or furniture building or creating intarsia works, she is most at home in her wood studio. Combining her passion for teaching and woodworking has evolved in a community of women artists from Northern Ontario who all share this passion for the natural beauty of this magnificent land. Kay is the founder of Windows to the North Gallery & Studios, Celebrating Women in Art which started with 14 local women artists and three established Canadian artists. The gallery continues as a space where other northern women artists showcase their work and where inspiring artists can hone their craft.
